A Repository of Photos from the Families of Luanne (née Gossett) & Ira Lansing
Ira was born August 1, 1951 to Mitcheal and Viola Lansing. He grew up in Beverly Hills, CA with his two older sisters, Susan (Sioux) and Judith.
He attended the University of California at Berkeley for both undergraduate and graduate degrees. He earned Bachelor’s (graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude) and Master’s degrees in Mathematics and a doctorate in Mathematics Education.
Ira worked in a variety areas part-time: short order cook, U.S. Postal Service; U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Office of the Inspector General, Internal Auditor; and community colleges in California.
He taught full-time at the College of Marin for nearly 38 years, where he was also active in the faculty union, the United Professors of Marin. He served UPM as chief negotiator, grievance officer and retired as their 21-year president.
The third picture shows him with his sister Judith and the first color picture is with the first car he ever owned, a 1975 Honda Civic CVCC.
