We arrived in Sydney after a short flight to Vancouver, British Columbia; then a 4 hour layover followed by a 15 hour flight to Sydney. Fortunately we had a day to catch up in the Marriott Harborside Hotel. For that half day we walked around the neighborhood, The Rocks, a boutiquey area of Sydney. Then came the rain, for which everyone was very thankful. It did not really slow us down, although strolling on the beach was not going to happen.
Yes, the Sydney Opera House is a magnificent building, and even more impressive on the inside. We were able to visit different auditoriums inside, including the largest one which will be closed for the next two years to be remodeled.
When you go be sure to take the excursion that lets you climb to the top of the Sydney Harbor Bridge.
