On April 19 Ira and Jeremy went skydiving in Hollister, CA.
This was Jeremy’s second jump (the first was 17 years earlier) and Ira’s first. Not on anyone’s bucket list—please, you’re stepping out 8000 feet above he ground—just something to experience.
As Jeremy said: “One jump is like 10 days of meditation.”
Watch the video. Before jumping they told me to do two things—make sure the goggles are low on my bridge because they will get pushed up, and before we exit the plane, arch back and rest your head on the shoulder of my jump companion. It seems the arching allows us to flip over and see the plane when we leave, which (they didn’t mention) will push the goggles DOWN. So you will see me arch and then notice that my moustache is well-protected by the goggles, but I eventually get them back in the proper place. I wasn’t sure how no goggles and my contact lenses would mix, but all’s well that ends well.
There is a lot to take in in the first 20 seconds of the jump, and I probably missed a lot, but it is all incredible!
