In January of this year Uncle Leo turned 105. Still living in his own condominium, he gets around quite well. He uses a walker for stability—but will give you a run for your money. With in-home assistance he is an example on how to grow old(er). When asked to what does he attribute his longevity he will jokingly say “smoking quality cigars for many years”.
Uncle Leo was married to Ira’s mother’s sister (Aunt Sonia) for over 40 years until Sonia died of Alzheimer’s disease. He later married a cousin of Viola’s and Sonia’s, Eva. They were together for 32 years, until her death a couple of years ago at age 96.
A second photo sneaks in to show Uncle Leo in February of 2017 at 107. Still going strong, living at home.
