We took an open truck ride through the Bandia Reserve. No carnivores but giraffes, zebra, rhinos, and more. We were able to see close up many animals, including the largest antelopes on the continent, the eland. After lunch at a seaside resort we took in a music festival at a local elementary school. A side comment about the resort: it is like the one that was attacked in the Ivory Coast. The security in this one was quite high and we were searched and the bus was inspected inside and out.
The festival was for the school children; we were just able to walk in on it. It was part of the cabbage harvest and tribal pride celebration. Click on the top photo to the left to see our short video of the dancers in action.
