On December 1 Jessica was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. She began a treatment of chemo therapy and was hospitalized for about three weeks. She came home on Christmas Day and two different bone marrow biopsies showed no trace of the cancer.
As a result of this good news, in 2018 she will undergo more chemo and a bone marrow transplant.
If you click on Kaia’s drawing of her with her mother, you will notice that she included the details of short hair (Jess’ head was shaved) and glasses (she did not wear her contacts in the hospital).
Jeremy, Jessica and Kaia have an amazing network of friends and family and have received all kinds of support from everyone, and each of their employers is being very understanding and helpful.
Continued in 2018.
