We all know that line was never said by Humphrey Bogart in the movie “Casablanca”, but be sure to play our two short videos (click the photos to the left) on this page.
The first is a look at some of the architecture, as represented by doorways. Many of these doors were shot as we walked through the Medina, the old city within the city of Casablanca.
The second video is a brief look at the most amazing Grand Mosque. It is one of the few mosques in the world that allows non-believers to enter, and it also has the tallest minaret (call-to-prayer tower) in the world. We had an amazing docent-led tour of the mosque. Our fairly young guide was a woman who wore the traditional headdress, along with red Ked hightops. She demonstrated prayer rituals and ablution (washing) rituals; very interesting and only enhanced the spirituality of the place.
