On March 12 Jessica was discharged from Stanford Medical Center into the next phase of her recovery. This would be approximately a 2 month stay in a “safe house”, a place where she and one other person could live for a period of time while her immune system comes back. All food would be prepared there and, while wearing her mask, she could walk around outside. She would also be driven to appointments at Stanford two or three times a week.
In an unbelievable show of generosity and kindness, one of Jeremy and Jess’ friends (Tyler) had an aunt with a home in Woodside (about a 15 minute drive from Stanford Medical Center) who just happened to have a vacant wing in her home. Really. Jess and the caregiver would each have separate bedrooms and bathrooms, share a kitchen with Pam, the owner, but have their own refrigerator and den.
This picture is Jessica’s light, airy, spacious bedroom. See the next picture for more.
