This is the view from the den area that Jess and the caregiver can use.
This transition period requires someone to be present with Jessica 24/7, mostly to monitor for adverse reactions and to drive her to appointments. Jeremy, Luanne, Jess’ father Jay and his partner Cindy, and a couple of select friends are taking turns living with Jess during this period.
When Jeremy is “on duty” grandparents or friends will be with Kaia in Santa Cruz.
On April 1 Jeremy wrote the following in his blog:
"Pretty sure we are at about mile 16 in this marathon. It's about 10 miles further than a sane person should run, but still a fucking long way from being finished. Kind of one of those places in time where you either have to totally give-up or buckle down and commit to finishing. We're feeling pretty committed to finishing, but it's hard, each day brings a new challenge that feels stacked on the back of a previous challenge. One day at a time, remember the helpers, ask for help, accept help, be honest, be vulnerable, and wear plenty of sunscreen."
